It offers the same 3.5mm single ended output as the xDSD, but adds a 2.5mm balanced connection as well. Just like the xDSD, the iFi xCAN gives crips mids and it’s overall pretty much the same presentation.

xDSD. At an affordable $299, the xCAN Bluetooth amp won’t break your bank. It’s not just an xDSD stripped of its USB DAC. So I can comfortably say I liked what the xCAN gives in the mid region. Its SPDIF and USB inputs make it a fearless beast unafraid of flexing its muscle.

By contrast, the manual for the xDSD and xCAN is pretty much required reading. The XBass ⅱ® analogue bass correction system corrects headphone/speaker bass response to deliver a more natural sound to the midrange frequencies.
The iFi Audio xDSD is a bold new portable amp and DAC design by the English company and set to go head to head with the FiiO Q5.
